Hope Fulfilled: 35 Graduate from the Certificate in Biblical Studies

QUEZON CITY — Thirty-five members of the Hope Class, the second graduating batch of the Certificate in Biblical Studies (CBS), received their certificates during the program’s 2nd Commencement Exercises held on May 30, 2026, at the Shrine of Jesus the Divine Word in Quezon City.


The baccalaureate mass was presided over by Most Rev. Elias L. Ayuban, Jr., CMF, Bishop of Cubao, who encouraged the graduates to continue living and proclaiming the Word of God in their families, parishes, and communities.


The graduates successfully completed the two-year Certificate in Biblical Studies program, which consists of four semesters of systematic study in Sacred Scripture under the guidance of leading Catholic biblical scholars in the Philippines.

The Certificate in Biblical Studies is a two-year formation program jointly offered by the Diocesan Shrine of Jesus the Divine Word, in partnership with the Diocese of Cubao, the Diocese of Cubao Biblical Apostolate (DOCBA), the Catholic Biblical Association of the Philippines (CBAP), and Christ the King Mission Seminary.


Since its establishment in 2023, the program has sought to make quality Catholic biblical education accessible to clergy, religious, and lay faithful through both onsite and online classes. The graduation of the Hope Class marks another significant milestone in its mission of forming disciples grounded in Sacred Scripture and committed to the Church’s evangelizing mission.
